At a livingroom

Today the city was my livingroom. After my morning shift at work I took a little nap at home and then rushed to my new hobbies (wich are to last until the beginning of december).

So the first course was "drawing comics" and it was really hilarious because I didn't knew it was ment mostly for kids and teenagers. Well that didn't bother me at all - on the contrary it was really FUN. The exercise was: wrote on little notes 1. what kind of, 2. what, 3. is doing what, 4. where. And the notes were drawn in a different order, so my one picture strip was about green cloud that praises in a tent!!! I enjoyed drawing and got also lots of other ideas. I will show you my work when it's finished.

Then I had an hour before my next course (reggaeton dance) and I went to library and went trough some really interesting magazines about quilting and other crafts. Did I ever mention that I have a big (or maybe I should be truthfull and say crazy big= side curtains) quilt coming on slowly. I'ts a consequence of borrowing a quilt book by Kaffe Fasset and thinking: "I'm so strong I can take a peep and not start a project of my own"...But that's another story... When it comes together maybe sometimes in the next 100 years. But look what I found from -syko-'s flicr photostream: LOVELY!!!

Then the dancing class started and boy did I LOVE it! I like to listen artists like Daddy Yankee when I go clubbing so the backround music was good. It's really good sports and I recommend it to people with tension on shoulders. All tension will melt! The teacher is a really pleasant lady, who is pregnant and it shows really funny when she dances. I'm looking forward to the next time next week. Check the video from youtube...I don't dance quite like that yet ;)

Now I'm all alert and it's a good thing tomorrow is my day off, begause after dancing I'm not sleepy at all.

Flippin' fun

What a nice cozy nest and a happy reading place this kind of window "bench" would be! Too white for my taste but the idea is a genius one.

While loading my Jamiroquai albums to my I-tunes library I found something really fun from Youtube. See for yourself! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSrDnIVgVv0 , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDJL0Vpqsp4 , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqsKZU87JSs . Flip books make me happy, because anyone can do it (and use imagination not money). I have made one myself maybe in the age of 9 or 10. It was on the pages of a thick Donald Duck book and it was a bouncing ball.

Fun night out

This is me yesterday leaving to the party (with my work buddies) and the skirt I made specially for this event. The Mickey Mouse is cut from a childrens shirt I foud from flea market some time ago. And because I'm a bad ass (its hard for some people to see) Mickey has a safety pin trough his nose (Punk Mickey). The nigt was really fun and I got to dance my heart out (I really love to dance with verve!)

Weekends

Last weekend was marvelous because I saw two of my diearest friends at once. This is really rare and always really fun. We talked a lot and ate well (among other things a whole Daim+orange-cake). We also went shopping and I found a sweater that was made for me (the colors and the stripes!)

Last night I sew myself a skirt for the 1 year celebration of my work place. The anniversary will take place on saturday and everybody's coming. I'm really waiting for it and I promise to take a picture for the blog of my party outfit.

Cute alarm

If I ever got married these bunnies should be on the cake! Found this while surfing from Etsy - a perfect way to spend an evening!

Less mysterious - more beautifull

There's something really pleasing for my eyes in this collage. Red, white and black together mmm!
To have a spacious kitchen! Well I almost never cook, but it would be nice to read the paper and drink my tea without cramped conditions :)
Lovely colors in this photo - I would love to have more room for my unique flea market finds.
lovely floor - weird bed..
Fun idea that curtain behind the bed.
My friend lend me this book, and I just have to share the best parts. Click the pictures to enlarge them.

Mysterious moon

Dang, it was hard to take a picture of the moon! The feeling was really great: the moon, dark, + 10 celcius, little wind in the few leaves left in the trees. Very mysterious (and the best weather to dry your laundry outside!) So there my sheets and towels flap in the wind like hounded souls...

Nice!

I spent weekend in my home town and it was really nice, because I had the time to visit relatives and family. When we came back here we went to see our friend's little girl (age 8 days) and she was really cute! I'm also really exited about a house we went to see a week ago and I'm wishing nobody else gets interested in it and try not to decorate it in my mind beacause I would be so sad if someone other bought it...This is a cool picture (that I'm going to use as an inspiration for my doll house) from really enjoyable blog: http://www.designspongeonline.com/2008/01

And something funny to start the monday:

Something funny...

Yes, I have a morbid sense of humor...But it's grey and boring outside and this is just so great idea and.. I just laugh out loud when I think how someone have imagined this :D

My miniatures

I might have to learn to try to get better pictures of such a little things! In the first picture there are little "paintings" and a newspaper. And the second picture has couple of books and my doll house's dollhouse :D Thats my most demanding work this far. Oh, I had to add one more picture about this doll house's doll house because I'm really proud of it: Click the picture and you can marvel the details.

Doll houses; scale 1:12

That kitty just shows the scale really well :)
I have so many pictures I chose some of the black and white ones here. The maker of these are really skilful! Maybe tomorrow I show some of my own creations. This is one of the great indoor things you can do when the fall is getting dark and wet like it's now here.

I don't remember sharing this hobby here before. I really can't resist these little but so real looking things and the calm order of the doll houses. I forget that this is a rare hobby in Finland because I can see the thousands of busy bees making miniature things from the net.

This dog looks like Tahvo

This looks like Tahvo most... I was eating apple cinnamon cheesecake and some of it was left when I had to move from the comfort of my sofa and "powder my nose". When I came back there was no cake, but the breath of the dog smelled like sweet cinnamon...

This is a very good illustration (and story) for children's book by Katie Kirk. I'm a big fan of imaginary and fun children's books and I know that the good ones are not easy to find. (I used to read stories for children under 6 years. It was only a few hours per week in a library when I was studying). Suprisingly often the stories that I inspected before reading them were too scary or they have weird stereotypes and stupid prejudices that no child should learn.
