Music

I'm planning to walk to work (evening shift) and visit library before it. Walking will take about 30 minutes and I usually listen to music and think whatever comes to mind. I'm convinced that when I walk it is the best thinking-time. Well I wanted to listen to something new so I used the whole morning searching good tunes. I like manykind of music but I only listen GOOD MUSIC, ha ha.

Today I will have these ones with me: Michael Buble - Feeling Good, The Ting Tings - Great DJ, The Kooks - Sofa Song (couldn't resist this name! The song is really good too!) and She Moves In Her Own Way, The Feeling - Sewn, Razorlight - I Can't Stop This Feeling I've got and The chemical Brothers - The Salmon Dance (funny, funny!).

But now I gotta go.

Absolutely fabulous creatures!!! These combine my liking of weirdness, sewing by hand and quilting. I have to say:

Fall themes

I live along with the seasons and fall is the time to get exited about the following themes and things:

1. Knitting (I'm making 3 different things at the same time...MANIA?)
2. Burning candles (I have a soft spot for beautiful candles)
3. Decorating home and wearing warm yellow, cherry red, petrol, brown, deep purple, yellowish olive green (I'm knitting an angora scarf. It's petrol and fluffy and I found the yarns for it from a flea market for just 40 cents!)
4. Listening new music - Emiliana Torrini is my current favourite. I never get bored of her voice. The darkening fall evenings are filled with good vibes. http://www.emilianatorrini.com/

Photos will follow someday...

Alexander designed this one for me

I saw this dream-knit by Alexander McQueen (my favourite designer if I should name one) in some magazine and now I finally found it from the net. It looks so cozy and perfectly in balance with the big pocket and the silver "snow flakes". Had to post it!

The most beautiful autumn day

This sunday was sunny and warm (considering the time of the year). I went for a walk and took photos of the mind buzzing colours of the nature around me. It made me feel so happy! Then we enjoyed coffee and muffins outside. Now I'm listening The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle and I'm going to start knitting!

Head gear

I knitted a turquoise hat for my friends upcoming baby. It was perfect...FOR MY HEAD! So I made another one and it's smaller and also neater. I tested it on my beloved sheep backpack.
See!? Perfect! I was so excited I felted a small bunny and embroidered the face so there is no beads or anything like that for the baby to eat.
(The sheep figure is from the hands of the animation-genius Nick Park. The Wallace and Gromit films are a hoot!) But more about my love for high quality animations from Tim Burton and others.

The wear a birdhat day

I embroidered this lime (it doesn't look lime now) fabric with the creatures from my doodles = Sir bunny and Worm. It's a semi-evil joke about all the "special" days we have in our calendar year nowadays for example The Cinnamonroll Day (Oh, that's a Swedish day - I'm not kidding) So you get the picture. I really liked the calming slowlines of embroidering. I'm not sure yet what it will be, but I'm pretty sure I will make more. Practise makes perfect too...I made buns with sunflower seeds and cheese on top. (I bake mainly ugly-looking-but-eatable bakery goods) The day was cold but dry fall day (the perfect weather for me!) and the warm buns and tea made my day when I returned from our walk with my dog.

Walking trough the forest with Tahvo was really nice because of the colourfull autumn leaves and all kinds of mushrooms and toadstools! Fall is in the air!

My kind of picture

I have a soft spot for small worried creatures like Piglet in Winnie the Pooh. I imagine that this creature by Kitty Genius is small and surely worried. Ou diear! What lurks over there? HIDE!

Gigantic Scrabble

As a devoted fan of the game..I just really LIKE this idea. I would choose other words for my walls. What would they be? Maybe the most ingenious words I've used playing the game (oh the sweet memories of victory)
BTW:
You can play free Scrabble-game in here. The picture is from that site too.
