Today I was a busy bee. I have changed three pieces from my wardrobe to better fit for my body. I have a habit of buying clothes that have "potential". Potential clothes mean that before I can actually wear those I have to sew couple of hours (after planning and making patterns) ;) This is of course fun for me, but I tend to pile up a really long queue towards my sewing machine. (Don't worry, I still have arms attached to me. I only wanted to show how insanely wide the sleeves were by holding them up!)
This indian cotton dress was a good color, obviously vintage and mmm, soft, I had no choise but to buy it for 2 euros at flea market. It didn't fit at all as you can see for yourself, but after altering it (below) it's quite nice if I say so myself.

Sunny sewing day

Bad dog
It's a good thing we recycle (otherwise too ofcourse), because the only bucket that Tahvo has access is plastics (and other things that can be burned for energy).
I have soooo many plans for the weekend! Jaakko is going away to visit his friend and that means I can mess up this little, little appartment. (For some reason Jaakko gets really difiicult, when my clothes fill the bed/bedroom floor, my sewing hobby inhabits the kithen table and stools and then his last resort; the livingroom sofa is "infested" with my other crafts!?)
Jei!

Oh I almost forgot
When I was "teaching" the Jaakko's class cartoon-making, I promised to show you their work. Well here it is: Da LINK ;) I think theyre really, really fine works of art! My favourite is the spider-cartoon (third from the bottom).
I've been doodeling myself, but I'm so lazy lass to scan. My scanner is otherwise working fine, but it tends to make a cruel sound a few minutes before it agrees to actually scan. The sound reminds me of machine gun fire...Poor me, snif...

Waiting for Valentine's day
I made this card tonight and I also wrote to my teenage cousin an old fashioned letter for the Valentine's day! I'll be stuck at work the whole day so I plan to bake something good for my work buddies. The fabric behind the card is flannel for my spring pyjamas :D My friend found it for me at the second hand store and I like love it. I also love the fact that the days are getting lighter. I don't hate the dark winter, but the light certainly makes me more energetic at spring and summer. I would not be able to keep that up the whole year, so it suits me well that the winter is slow.

Doing, being...
I've found a highly addictive hobby: Shrinking plastic! I've only just tried it, but I'm already planning to buy tons of it ;)
Otherwise I've been:
- Reading a lot of books by young finnish writers
- Dancing for ecxercise and fun at Dance Fever-classes every monday
- Getting back to track with my hobby: Educational Sciences at Open University
- Dreaming about summer holiday and possible trip to far, far away
- Dreaming about less possible new appartment. (We went to see this beautifull three room (+ huge walk in closet) appartement with wooden floors and too big price tag on it :()
And I've got new hair :D I like the color! (at the back is my new kitchen curtain I found at flea market)
Yesterday I walked to work and the day was so beautifull I took some pictures. This one makes me smile, because the boats are REALLY not going anywhere ;) The snow, ice and sun are energizing combo.
